Join us to celebrate Burns Night in the Whisk(e)y Cellar! 


We’ll offer two two-hour time slots (4:30pm - 6:30pm & 7pm - 9pm) to enjoy a reception commemorating the annual Scottish cultural celebration, Burns Night, an homage to Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns.

There’s no better place to celebrate the abolition of the booze-prohibiting 18th amendment!

The free-to-attend, open-to-the-public celebration will start with a special Jack Rose Single Barrel Hour from 5-7:30pm, featuring pours of our favorite house single barrels priced at $12.05 (to commemorate the December 5th holiday).

And all night, guests can enjoy tableside martini service, plus classic Prohibition-era cocktails, and $50 bottles of Champagne, while vintage films play on the Saloon projector screen.

There will also be food specials such as $2 Oysters Rockefeller and shareable, stacked Seafood Towers, while the regular dinner menu will be available a la carte. 

In the Saloon, a live jazz band will play for guests starting at 7pm, while burlesque dancers will perform for spectators starting at 8pm.

And guests are of course encouraged to dress to the nines in flapper dresses and swanky suits, donning their most Prohibition-era attire, for a chance to win a $150 gift card.

Join us for the annual DC Rickey Cocktail Competition!

What's a Rickey? It is DC's official cocktail -- from the Washington Post,

"in the mid-1880s, [a] bartender named George A. Williamson apparently created the rickey at a famous/infamous bar named Shoomaker's, located on E Street NW, just off Pennsylvania Avenue. It was the go-to drink of a loyal Shoomaker's patron and Democratic lobbyist named Col. Joseph Kyle Rickey, who is often credited as the co-inventor of the cocktail. (The colonel preferred bourbon, but gin soon became the spirit of choice in the cocktail.)"

Celebrate the Rickey this summer with unlimited Rickey cocktails from bartenders all over the city!

A panel of judges will decide the top winner, along with a crowd choice vote.

Non-distiller producers partner with established distilleries to contract-distill whiskies to their own specifications. These partnerships often allow the NDPs to focus on the art of blending, aging, and finishing as well as reviving legacy brands using well-aged stocks.

This guided tasting will highlight a range of bourbon and rye from leading NDPs that use noteworthy maturation techniques from specific oak finishes to mingling age statements.
